CCNM is expanding its expertise in integrative cancer care with the launch of its Integrative Cancer Centre. Responding to growing demand from patients wanting a holistic approach to cancer care, the Integrative Cancer Centre, located at CCNM’s Toronto campus, will provide cancer patients adjunctive support alongside conventional treatments.
The CCNM Integrative Cancer Centre will collaborate with CCNM’s Ottawa Integrative Cancer Centre (OICC) to provide the best integrative cancer care in Canada, consistent with the person-centred approach included in CCNM’s curriculum and promoted by Cancer Care Ontario.
The naturopathic doctors at the CCNM Integrative Cancer Centre have additional training in integrative cancer care and have attained Fellowship status with the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology (FABNO). Working closely with CCNM student interns and residents, they guide and monitor each patient through the right complementary therapies at the right time. Therapies may include naturopathic medicine, acupuncture, psychotherapy, yoga therapy and massage therapy.
Many people living with cancer seek complementary care alongside their conventional treatments. Complementary therapies can significantly improve a patient’s quality of life by decreasing toxicity and side effects, strengthening the immune system, and supporting the body’s healing ability.
We are committed to collaborating with oncologists, surgeons, and family doctors to develop therapeutic programs for patients that help sustain wellness during and after cancer treatment. Patients with any stage of cancer and those wishing to prevent cancer or its recurrence are welcomed at the CCNM Integrative Cancer Centre.
CCNM provides comprehensive evidence-based training in integrative oncology to naturopathic doctors and other allied healthcare providers across Canada. It aspires to be the leading North American provider of post-graduate training in integrative oncology that combines classroom and clinical mentorship with experts in the field.
CCNM is committed to evidence-based integrative cancer care that will further support patients, their families, and health-care providers to improve the patient journey and enhance patient outcomes.
Together, CCNM’s Integrative Cancer Centre, the OICC, and the Patterson Institute for Integrative Cancer Research will work corroboratively to provide the best integrative cancer care, research and education that Canada has to offer.
